1. Who We Are

undercover.gg is operated by an individual developer based in Geneva, Switzerland. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at contact@undercover.gg.

2. What We Collect — and What We Don't

We collect as little as possible. undercover.gg does not store any personal information. Specifically:

• We do not store your Discord username, avatar, email address, or any other account data.
• We do not create a separate account or profile for you.
• We do not use cookies on this website or in the game.
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties.

3. Discord Authentication

The game runs as a Discord Activity inside Discord voice channels. Authentication is handled entirely by Discord via OAuth2 — we never see or store your password or email. Discord's own Privacy Policy governs how your account data is managed within their platform.

When Discord provides us with a user ID during a session, we immediately apply a one-way SHA-256 hash before any storage. The original Discord user ID is never written to disk.

4. Website Analytics

The undercover.gg website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that is cookieless and GDPR-compliant by design. Plausible does not track individuals, does not use cookies, and does not collect any personal data. It records aggregate page-view counts and referrer information only.

5. Game Telemetry

Our game server records anonymous telemetry to help us understand how the game is played and improve the experience. This includes:

• Hashed player activity (SHA-256 one-way hash — not reversible to a real identity)
• Game events: rounds played, game duration, word categories selected
• Guild (Discord server) installation events

None of this data can be traced back to you as an individual. No names, no emails, no original Discord IDs.

6. No Cookies

undercover.gg uses no cookies — not on the website, not in the Discord Activity. There is nothing to accept or reject.

7. Data Retention

Raw anonymized game events are retained for 90 days, after which they are deleted. Daily aggregate statistics (e.g., total games played per day) contain no individual-level data and are kept indefinitely for product analytics.

8. Children's Privacy

undercover.gg is a Discord Activity and follows Discord's minimum age requirements. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the service, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Your Rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), you have the right to request access to any data we hold about you, and the right to request its deletion. Because all game telemetry is fully anonymized and hashed, it is not possible to associate stored records with a specific individual — but we are happy to discuss any concerns.

10. Governing Law

This policy is governed by Swiss law, specifically the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Geneva, Switzerland.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the game after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
